Had a blast at the Chicago Boardgames Meetup Group

by gamesmaster 2/13/2008 12:04:49 AM

I took myself to Goose Island Brewery, fighting aggressive winds and seemingly unceasing snowfall, to attend the monthly Chicago Boardgames Meetup Group.  Just like the description says, I didn't recognize a single game being played when I walked in, and I know a decent number of games.  Everyone was outgoing and friendly and several of us played a stacking game called Sac Noir.  As towers climbed and bean counts dropped, pressure mounted for the remaining players to make the best choice when it came to picking a new block to "accept" or "refuse".  It turned out to be such a hit that we played three full games and it's also why I'm only now getting home to write this.  I've already RSVPed for next month and look forward to discovering some other new games.
